We Need Your Support!
Dear Community Supporters:
"Happiest are the people who give the most happiness to others." ~ Dennis Diderot.
Summertime brings the opportunity to attend summer camp for many lucky children. I was a lucky one. I went to camp. I made new friends, sang songs, enjoyed field day games, and felt the love & kindness of my many counselors. With anticipation, and reflection upon fond memories of prior summers, I would anxiously wait for Spring to become Summer… knowing that entire days of swimming, crafts and sports would await my eager spirit.
Camp memories last a lifetime. Every child should have the chance to create them and we are committed to providing this opportunity for even more Southern Nevada kids each summer. There are many disadvantaged youths throughout Las Vegas that have never enjoyed day camp, getting away from challenging home environments, and being free in summer exploration.
It is our responsibility to help our neighbors. These young children, our kids peers and future leaders, rely on our work to provide them with a chance at happiness and an escape from the mundane. In return, we get to experience the rewarding feeling of satisfaction and our own happiness that only comes from helping our friends who just need a hand.
The Jewish Community Center of Southern Nevada’s (JCCSN) Camp K’helah grants over $60,000 in camp scholarships and continues to receive an unprecedented number of applications from families requesting financial assistance. We are the largest Jewish day camp in Nevada and will never turn down any child’s application for attendance.
We need your support. We will be hosting our 3rd Annual BBQ Cook-Off and Community Festival, on Sunday, October 19th, where funds raised will support the JCCSN. The program includes 20+ BBQ teams competing for cash prizes, live music, BBQ fare and entertainment for all ages.
This event will be a primary fundraiser for the JCCSN. We welcome your participation via sponsoring any portion of the festival. Your generosity is not only appreciated, but essential for the success of the JCCSN, which provides the necessary financial assistance to the famililes of our community.
The Jewish Community Center is a 501(c)3 organization and all contributions are tax-deductible to the full extent of the law. Our tax identification number is 88-0278460.
